Weekend Three.

June 7, 2010

It was blazing hot in California this entire weekend — we thought we were going to melt. But we endured the heat & had a blast celebrating away with friends & family up in Norcal. :] My weekend three:

One. Rejoiced with a really dear girlfriend as she became a MRS. Not only was the ceremony really sweet & beautiful, but she also did a stellar job with all the little details of the reception.

Escort cards came in the form of wooden pencils wedged into moss like a little forest (my favorite favors ever!!). A vintage mini-luggage as a card/envelope holder. Vintage books that she borrowed from a friend’s grandfather’s library. Tons of different vases and bottles holding an array of wild flowers. A homemade cake with sheet music-covered cake topper. And homemade mini-strawberry shortcakes in lieu of traditional wedding cake. All in all, an a-ma-zing wedding.

Two. Driving. Lots of driving. Even more so than last weekend.

Three. Even though we spent the bulk of our anniversary driving, we did manage to stop off in Pasadena for a little bit of street-shopping & dinner at Cafe Bizou. We don’t typically do fancy dinners, so it was a good change of pace for us.

Reflected on this past year & recounted some of our favorite memories to each other (some serious, some not-so).

We had a lot of fun this weekend, but I woke up with a sore throat & a headache on Sunday morning and have been feeling a little under the weather ever since. I guess all the driving took a toll on my body. Hoping for a quick & easy recovery!

What are your weekend three?
