Oh, Hello Danni!
After a few weeks of correspondence and trying to schedule a meet-up, Danni and I finally got a chance to meet this past Monday. Danni is the artsy graphic designer behind Oh, Hello Friend. Her’s was actually one of the first design blogs I started following, way before I even started blogging. I’ve always loved the way she presents herself on her blog — always so sweet & positive — and was pleased to discover that she’s exactly the same in person!
We met at Milk+Honey at The Camp in Costa Mesa. One of my favorite local tea shops — half for its aesthetic, half for the unique & yummy flavors they offer. Before I went, I kept telling S how nervous I was to be meeting someone I had met over the internet — kind of like a blind date?! But I was so thankful to find such a kindred spirit in Danni — we share the same interests, background, struggles, values, and beliefs. It really felt like I was just catching up with an old friend.
In addition to her beautiful blog, she also sells handmade jewelry in her etsy shop. I actually introduced my mom to Etsy last week (she’s not the most tech-savvy person) & she spent a good half hour scrolling through Danni’s shop. She ended up buying this pretty number for herself taha. Note to self: buy all future gifts for Mom off of Etsy.
Meeting her in person & having such a good experience makes me wonder how many other bloggers there are out there who live nearby me — who maybe shop at the same market, rummage through the same thrift stores, and eat at the same restaurants as me. (Isn’t that so weird to think about??) I’d definitely want to meet more someday — to hear all the stories, heartaches, and joys that maybe get left out in the flurry of beautiful photographs & endless inspiration.
