Thrifty Find: Teakettle.

April 14, 2010

Last week I found the prettiest silver teakettle hidden behind piles of tacky Christmas plates and platters. It is a bit rusted, and though I think I can remove it with some toothpaste & water, I’m not sure if I want to. The discoloration adds character, and I quite love it the way it is.

So pretty & feminine. I am now determined to host a full-on tea party, old-fashioned teakettle and all.

I love the lid detail and the curve of the spout. I think you’re right, the discoloration emphasizes its age and that’s nice to see. Great find!

I love this! It reminds me of my grandma. She had tons of fashioned teapots.
